All Homeland Security Officers will be outfitted with the following company issued equipment:
· Pocket Diary · Flashlight · Wireless Radio · Baton · Handcuffs (Estate Constables only) · Homeland Security Identification · Company patches · Precept (Estate Constables only)
The Wireless Radios have an island wide coverage, making communication with base more efficient. Training Homeland Security Officer Candidates must complete 40-hours of Initial Entry Training (IET).This instruction develops a knowledge base of the best and safest methods necessary to accomplish the numerous tasks required of a security officer. The course of training covers a broad range of subjects, including the general duties of a security officer, customer service, asset protection, health, safety and environmental procedures, ethics, and technical report writing. The information presented ensures officers have the necessary skills to carry out the important duties of protecting people, property, and information with expertise. Our officers are also trained in basic first aid and fire safety.
